Buldak Experiment (with Baken-Its)

Daily writing prompt
Write about your most epic baking or cooking fail.

This past summer I surprisingly had plenty of time to do things that I wanted, and one of those things were making D.I.Y. Hot Cheeto Balls! Luckily for me @authenticteecee provided me with a great tutorial on how to make them correctly.

I first started off with simple ingredients such as one packet of Buldak Ramen, Baken-its Hot Chicharones (To replace the hot cheetos), and mozzarella cheese. Baking powder to help the Buldak stick together better. Cooking oil to fry the Brain.

I then smashed the Bakenits as much as possible in order to make them easily applicable to the cooked buldak.

After, I boiled the Buldak in a pan, just like any other ramen noodle. When they are cooked, they would be ready to be balled up into a “brain”shape. They are to be put in the freezer, for at least 45 minutes. Don’t forget to wrap them in Saran Wrap to prevent them from falling apart before they enter the freezer.

After you take them out of the freezer, then you can prepare them for the pan with the frying oil. Take the cooking oil and heat it until it is boiling make sure not to cook too high, as this can lead to burning your Buldak balls.

With a pair of tongs, grab the Buldak and dip it into the crushed Bakenits, or sprinkle onto Buldak Ball until nice and covered.

Place the Buldak balls onto a pan, ready to pick up and deep fry. Deep fry for about 10-15 seconds and then turn it around. Try not to leave too long or you will severely impact the flavor as it may not be suitable to comfortably eat.

After you have boiled your Buldak ball, let it cool down for a few minutes. By then you should have a tasty, crunchy, and savory treat ready to eat!
